Basilis Boutsinas has been Professor at the Department of Business Administration of the University of Patras since 2001. He received his diploma in “Computer Engineering & Informatics” and his Ph.D. on Knowledge Representation (a topic in AI) from the University of Patras. He also conducted studies in “Electronics Engineering” and “Pedagogics”. His primary research interests include intelligent information systems, data mining, business intelligence and knowledge representation. He is among the first educators that focused on teaching the above fields in the management science context (since 1999). Some of his research results have been included in early/introductory scientific literature for various topics. He is the (co-)author of about 100 research papers published in scientific international journals (some are topmost prestigious academic journals) or conference proceedings. He is the Director of the Management Information Systems & Business Intelligence Lab. He has managed various research projects, funded with more than 3 million euros in the last ten years. He has served as Dean of the Business School at the University of Patras since 2018. He has also served as chairman of the Department of Business Administration and vice president of the Research Committee of the University of Patras. He has worked as a consultant for various organizations.
