The Governing Council exercises the powers provided for in Article 14 of Law No. 4957/2022 (Government Gazette 141/A/21.7.2022) and any others foreseen by the internal regulations of the Higher Education Institution (HEI), if these have not been assigned by law to other bodies of the HEI.
It consists of eleven (11) members, six (6) of whom are internal members, elected in accordance with article 9 of Law No. 4957/2022, and five (5) members are external and are appointed in accordance with Article 10, as currently in force. The term of office of the Council members shall be four years.
The Rector of the Higher Education Institution (HEI) presides over the activities of the Governing Council, sets the agenda, convenes its meetings and ensures the implementation of its decisions.
The Governing Council shall assume office on the 1st of September 2024.
